What do you need to do next?
There are some key steps for you to take so that you're ready to start delivering MiDAS using our online system.
1. Login and take a look around. When you login for the first time, you will be asked to set a new password. If you ever forget your password, you can reset it at any time following the password reset link and the instructions on the login screen. Once logged in, you'll be able to start exploring your account.
2. Complete the MiDAS Standard driver theory course. One of the key changes is that the MiDAS Standard theory course is now delivered via an online eLearning course. So that you know exactly what drivers will be covering and how the online theory course works, you’ll be able to go through it yourself. This will help to ensure you're able to answer any questions from drivers when they come to do their practical.
3. Sign the Driver Assessor Agreement. Once you’ve completed the theory course, you’ll be able to read and sign the new Driver Assessor Agreement. This shouldn’t include anything that you’re not already doing. However, it’s been created to help make sure that everyone involved with the delivery of MiDAS understands their responsibilities.
4. Explore the Driver Assessor Resources. There are number of resources available on the DA Resources page in your account. There are two key ones which we would encourage you to read in detail to help you understand how the new MiDAS works and what your role is as a Driver Assessor:
- MiDAS Information Pack - This booklet is aimed at any organisation completing MiDAS. It provides an overview of the delivery model and explains how everything works.
- DA Handbook - MiDAS driver assessments are still conducted in the same way. However, there is now a new element - the 'Individual Practical Session.' This is conducted immediately before a driving assessment. The aim is to ensure that drivers have understood the online theory course and to help prepare them for their practical. The new DA Handbook outlines what should be included in this session, as well as ensuring that the key requirements for a driving assessment are clear.
5. Visit our Help Centre. Within our Help Centre, you can watch our tutorials about how you can complete key tasks including purchasing and allocating Learner Passes, updating practical results and viewing learner progress.
