The CTA team works remotely across the whole of the UK, which means we have many ways to connect with and support our members, partners and stakeholders.

With community-led groups and organisations delivering transport and wider support services to rural, urban, and island communities across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, we are constantly evaluating and developing creative ways to connect.

We know that while many of the challenges Community Transport operators face are universal, each country and the regions within them present their own unique challenges and opportunities.

As well as our four pillars of support, looking at the key, cross-cutting themes of Membership, Advice & Support, Policy & Research, and Training & Capacity Building, we have dedicated teams in each country to make sure members and the wider community can access the right advice, guidance and support to suit their context and location, including:

  • Events – we host a national conference every year for the whole of the sector and our partners, as well as dedicated in-person conferences/events across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales
  • Forums/meetings – from our ConneCTing forums for English regions, Working Well sessions led by colleagues in team Wales, Network meetings in NI, and Climate Action forums led by team Scotland, we offer a range of virtual events to bring our members together
  • Training/Show & Tell – as well as our MiDAS training, CTA offers a range of on-demand training programmes and information sessions on key topics for the sector, creating opportunities to learn from experts across the UK network
  • Community Building Sessions – a monthly virtual/online session which brings together members from across the UK to connect with each other and look at high-priority questions
  • Spotlight newsletters – every month each CTA country team compiles a monthly Spotlight newsletter featuring all the latest news, funding opportunities, training, and CTA updates to keep you informed. We also issue a UK-wide Spotlight once a month. Sign up, here.

Our work in each part of the UK is underpinned by our mission to lead a thriving community transport movement, to deliver our vision of a world where everyone in their communities can access transport that meets their needs. Wherever you are, and whatever you do with and for your community, our team is on hand to help.
