    Here you can find information about becoming a member of the Community Transport Association and submit your application.     Membership Criteria

    CTA reserves the right to refuse membership to any organisation it believes to be ineligible.

    To be considered for CTA membership, your organisation must be:

    1. A not-for-profit organisation that provides transport, constituted as either: 

    1.1 A charity and/or a company limited by guarantee without share capital.

    1.2 A Community Interest Company without share capital.

    1.3 Another not-for-profit organisation listed with a regulator such as an Industrial and Provident Society.

    1.4 If none of the above apply, the organisation’s aims, objectives and methods of working should be stated in a document that is available for public inspection.

    1.5 A primary, secondary school or sixth form college.

    1.6 A public sector body.

    2. Your organisation must be based within England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

    Membership Costs

    If you are a state funded/grant-aided primary/secondary school, a sixth form college or a Public Sector Organisation, there is a set price for your membership. If you don’t fall into one of those two categories the cost of your membership is based your annual income.

    Between £25,000 and £50,000 £50.00
    Between £50,000 and £100,000 £80.00
    Between £100,000 and £250,000 £120.00
    Between £250,000 and £500,000 £215.00
    Between £500,000 and £1 Million £320.00
    Over £1 Million £400.00
    Other Membership Options:
    Primary/Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges £50.00
    Public sector £400.00

    Please note – the £50 ‘Primary/Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges’ annual membership cost only applies to state schools in England and Wales and grant-aided schools in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
