Perceptions of CT with Manchester University

We were delighted to host the first Community Building Session of 2025 earlier this week which offered CTA members an opportunity to influence a brand new research project.

Students from Manchester University are focusing on 'Perceptions of Community Transport' in a new study and joined the online session to learn from CTA members' experiences, challenges and insights.

The session covered:

• Project Aims and Objectives: The session began with an introduction to the project's aims and objectives, providing a clear roadmap of what the research intends to achieve.
• Target Audience: The researchers outlined their target audience, emphasizing the importance of diverse input from various stakeholders in the community transport sector.
• Project Briefing: Attendees received a comprehensive briefing on the project, including the methodologies and expected outcomes.
• Scoping Work Completed: The students shared the scoping work completed so far, offering insights into the preliminary findings and setting the stage for further research.

We were so pleased CTA members took the opportunity to offer valuable ideas and responses that will help shape the all important research questions. This collaborative approach ensures that the research the students undertake will be grounded in real-world experiences and challenges faced by those delivering community transport services.

The response from participants was overwhelmingly positive with many members commenting on their interest in the impact of the research and an eagerness to be involved in future discussions.
