There are 4 main steps to delivering the updated MiDAS course. Click on each step below to find out more.

1. Purchase
  • Learner Passes can be purchased from the online shop.
  • Learner Passes can only be purchased by a user with Administrator Access. If you don't already have this, you can ask the administrator from your organisation to grant it to you.
  • You can choose to pay by card or by invoice.
  • Once purchased, Learner Passes will be available to allocate straight away. They remain available in your account until they are used.
2. Allocate
  • Learner Passes can be allocated on the Allocate Learner Passes page. They can only be allocated by a user with Administrator Access.
  • You will need to know the Learner’s first name, last name and email address.
  • The organisation that the learner is from must be registered with MiDAS. If they’re not, you can register them before allocating them a pass, here
  • Once you have allocated a pass, the learner will receive an email with a link to create an account and complete the online theory course. The link will expire after 14 days. If you need to send them another email, or they haven’t received it, you can resend the welcome email by clicking ‘View Progress.’
  • Once you have allocated a pass, you are able to cancel it and reissue it to someone else as long as the learner hasn’t created account.
3. Deliver
  • Once a learner has passed their theory, you will receive an email notifying you the following day. However you can check their progress at any time by logging into your account and accessing the LMS.
  • The practical element of the course includes:
    • Individual Practical Session (up to 45 minutes) - An opportunity to address any questions which the driver has following the online theory course and ensures that the driver is familiar with the vehicle.
    • Driving Assessment (up to 45 minutes) - A minimum of 30 minutes of assessed driving (split into 2x15 minutes parts with 10 minutes for feedback in between). 1 major fault at any time or 3 of the same minor fault during part 2 of the assessment results in a fail. Must include a minimum of 1 reversing manoeuvre.
    • Accessible MiDAS (if applicable) - The Accessible MiDAS course is typically delivered over half a day, with additional time required for supervised practices and assessments. Driver Assessors should continue to use the Purple Round 3 training materials or the updated interim materials available under DA Resources in their account.
4. Certify
  • Following the completion of all the face-to-face elements of the course, the practical information can be uploaded by either Administrators or the allocated Driver Assessor.
  • Once you have accessed the LMS, you need to click File Practical Info. Only learners who have passed their theory assessment will appear in this list. You may need to adjust the date filters or search for someone’s name if you can’t find someone that you are expecting to see.
  • When someone has undertaken the Accessible MiDAS course, when you indicate pass or fail, this applies to all elements of the course.
  • When submitting evidence, please upload a copy of the Driver Assessment Report and the WTORS Assessment Report (if applicable). You do not need to include any other paperwork.
  • As soon as you have completed the form and clicked save, the learner will be notified and if they’ve been successful, will be able to access their certificate.
