CT24 The Voice of the Passenger

We are excited to invite you to our annual conference. Every community transport journey begins with a passenger. 

CT24: The Voice of the Passenger, will be a dynamic, community transport conference designed to empower communities and drive change through insightful discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Taking place on Wednesday 27th November 2024 at The Boiler Shop, Newcastle Upon Tyne, the conference will bring together voices from across the CT sector to explore key themes from our Manifesto, such as modernising for growth, improving access to health and social care, and investing in community solutions.

Event Highlights

 - Launch of the CTA Official Insurance Partners, BCD & WRS: Meet the teams behind our new insurance partners and find out how multi-vehicle and charity insurance can benefit you and your organisation. 

 - Launch of the Social Value Toolkit: Be among the first to explore this essential toolkit designed to enhance community transport services.

 - Networking: Connect with like-minded professionals during our morning and lunch networking sessions.

 - Lightning Talks: Hear from CT operators directly on how they have faced and overcome key challenges.

 - Workshops: These sessions, featuring expert speakers, will include interactive roundtable discussions on key topics:

  • Investing in Community Solutions: Learn about successful community engagement strategies with speakers: Tom Barbour (Climate Action Strathaven) and Sacha Petrie (Awel Aman Tawe) and Dr Batul Dungarwalla and Rachel Gmajner (Lincolnshire CVS).
  • Improving Health and Social Care: Discuss the role of community transport in ensuring healthcare access, particularly for vulnerable populations, with speakers: Howard Gunn (Connex Community Support), David Williams (Health for All) and Denise Carmichael (Borders Wheels).
  • Vehicle Solutions: Dive into best practices for maintaining and purchasing vehicles for community transport services with: Fred James (Minibus Options), Tristan Scaife, (Business Choice Direct), James Hooker, (Harris Maxus) and Stephen Cave (DVSA).
  • Cyber Solutions: Led by North East Cyber Security, this workshop will focus on safeguarding community transport services against digital threats with Martin Wilson (North East Business Resilience Centre).


And that’s not all. CT24: The Voice of the Passenger conference will host our annual AGM. This is a chance for CTA members to hear a review of 2023/2024 and our plans to support members over the coming year.

Special Resolution 3: amendment to the procedure for appointing Board officers

Special Resolution 4: amendment to the procedure for who can attend meetings of the Board
