Enabling Car Schemes to Thrive: Online Focus Group for Sector Partners

Join the Community Transport Association for a workshop for Local Authority colleagues and local VCS infrastructure organisations that support volunteer car schemes in their area, even if they do not run schemes themselves.

As part of our Deep Dive research project, Driving Sustainability: Evaluating and Future-Proofing Volunteer Car Schemes, we have already held three focus groups with scheme operators. These have given us valuable insight into how schemes are working day to day. The next stage is to hear directly from the people who help shape the conditions in which schemes operate. Local Authorities and local infrastructure bodies play an essential role in supporting, advising, funding, and connecting schemes, so your input is central to this work.

The session will explore:

How volunteer car schemes are currently supported across different areas, including the range of relationships and models you work with

Challenges you see schemes facing, both from an operational and policy perspective

Opportunities to improve long-term sustainability and strengthen alignment with wider local transport planning

Your contribution will help us develop practical tools and guidance for Local Authorities and VCS partners to better understand, support, and integrate volunteer car schemes as part of local transport provision.
