Connect & Learn: Supporting Passengers Living with Dementia
-
Virtual - Via Microsoft Teams | comms@ctauk.orgAbout this session
This session on supporting people living with dementia and accessing transport will focus on helping you to understand and manage the challenges of supporting people to travel safely, confidently, and with dignity, while living with dementia. We will explore how dementia can affect orientation, memory, and decision-making in travel situations, and give practical ways that you can support people to travel for longer.
We hear from you that sometimes, supporting people living with dementia to use community transport can be challenging, so this session will explore this and enable you to share your experiences, learn from others, and gain confidence on the steps you can take to best support your passengers. We will share tools, resources and reflections to help you in your role, based on our work with operators and partners specialising in dementia support, and we will hold space for thoughtful discussion and shared learning.
