D1 Focus Group 1 - FULLY BOOKED

We are entering a new and important phase of CTA’s campaign for driver licensing changes.

We want your help to safeguard the future of Community Transport through changes to D1, which will address the shortage of qualified minibus drivers.

Based on member feedback, policy analysis and discussions with government, CTA has identified several options, which we want to test with our members in a series of focus groups, drawing on your experiences, insights and perspectives.

How We Talk About Disability at CTA: A guide

At CTA, we’re committed to inclusion and equality for disabled people. Our research team has put this guide together using the social model of disability, which recognises that people are disabled not by their impairments or conditions, but by the barriers in society—whether physical, organisational, or to do with how people think and behave.

This model shapes the language we use. We aim to talk about disability in ways that are respectful, inclusive, and focused on removing barriers.

Celebrating Trustees Week 2025!

Trustees’ Week takes place on 3rd-7th November 2025 and allows us to shine a spotlight on the nearly one million trustees across the UK who give their time and expertise to support charities. It’s a great opportunity to recognise and thank those who play such an important role in strengthening communities and the organisations they lead.

At CTA, we’ll be marking the week by celebrating our own dedicated board of trustees - and encouraging our members to do the same by shining a light on the people who help their organisations thrive.

Celebrating safe, legal and comfortable journeys: MiDAS & CTWeek

What is Community Transport Week?

Every year, Community Transport Week allows us to pause for a moment and celebrate the sector, and everyone involved in it! This year’s theme,“More than a Minibus,” captures something vital: community transport is about people as much as it is about vehicles. It isn’t just about getting from A to B, it’s all the in-between moments that make the journey special, and memorable for passengers. For that to happen, journeys must be safe, legal and comfortable. That’s where MiDAS comes in.
