Ensuring the online MiDAS course is accessible

Once a driver has been allocated a Learner Pass, they will be emailed details about how to login to access the online course.

The course has been designed to be as accessible as possible.

Accessibility-centric approach

All course materials, including text, images, videos, and interactive elements, are designed to be clear, concise, and fully accessible to a diverse range of learners.

Alternative text and subtitling

Alternative text descriptions are provided for all images, as well as subtitles for all video content.

User-friendly technology

The Learning Management System supports accessibility features, such as screen readers.

Range of devices

The course can be undertaken on any internet enabled electronic device so drivers can use any device which feels comfortable to them, whether that’s a PC, laptop, mobile or tablet.

We know that there will still be drivers who need additional support. For example, if they have difficulties using the technology, have additional learning needs or if English is not their first language. In these circumstances, as with providing any type of training course, it’s important to consider how those needs can best be met. We advise that you discuss any accessibility requirements at the time of booking and that you have a policy for dealing with any reasonable requests for additional support. Providing an internet connection

Are you able to provide a suitable venue for a driver to go through their online learning if they are unable to access the internet?

Reader

If a driver requires assistance with reading and comprehending the online course, can a member of staff support them as they work through the online learning?

Flexibility and Adaptability

The online learning has been designed so that drivers can work through it at their own pace. However, they need to complete it before attending their Individual Practical Session. Can you ensure they have as much time as they need to work through the online course?

Culture of inclusivity
