• Resources: Driver Licensing

  • Driver Licensing

These resources cover driver licensing – the licences and training required for different types of community transport activities. There is distinct information for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as they have different regulations and guidance.

Each How to Guide includes a flow-chart to understand what licenses your drivers need as well as more information on those licenses including renewals and checks.

Whether driving on a B, D 101 or D1 licence, it is strongly recommended that there should be a regular assessment of a driver’s ability to drive a vehicle, and appropriate training should be provided. The CTA runs MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme), which provides a suite of training packages to facilitate the assessment and training of drivers of both minibuses and cars & MPVs. Further details can be obtained from the CTA website: ctauk.org/training/midas/
