    Business Transformation Manager – Lothian Community Transport Services

    Salary: £30,208 – £35,621 per annum, plus contributory pension (6%)

    We are an independent charity that has operating bases in Edinburgh and Midlothian and are passionate about enabling people – including those that are isolated – to lead a fuller life and have been providing safe, high-quality accessible transport for groups in Edinburgh and Midlothian for over thirty years. LCTS also provides scheduled community bus services in remote parts of Midlothian. In addition, LCTS has a deserved, enviable reputation throughout Scotland and beyond for providing premium driver training through our wholly owned subsidiary, Transport Training Skills (UK) Ltd. (TTS). But we want to do more.

    Operations Manager – VEST Community Transport Cardiff

    Salary 30k + commensurate with experience

    Voluntary Emergency Service Transport (V.E.S.T) was formed in 1971 as a registered charity providing accessible door to door transport for people who are unable to use public transport.

    Our Trustees seek to appoint a new Operations Manager to lead this much-loved charity with established support from local authorities and other third sector parties.

    Reporting to The Board of Directors, your role will include: –

    • Leading, recruiting and managing a team of paid/volunteer drivers and admin staff including all HR duties
    • Managing a fleet of accessible minibuses in accordance with legislation
    • Preparation of financial accounts, payroll and budgeting under the direction of the Treasurer
    • Working and developing links with Local Authorities and other funders
    • Carrying out reviews of booking management and developing services
    • Day to day management of procurement, maintenance and safety of the fleet
    • Building management
    • Networking and marketing
    • Operation of transport booking systems
    • Health & safety and first aid management
    • Assist the board with any other reasonable tasks

    We are looking for a person with these qualities: –

    • Proven staff management/leadership skills
    • Highly organised and self-motivated
    • Extensive IT skills – particularly MS Office and SAGE
    • Exceptional oral and written communication and numeracy skills
    • An innovative approach to problem solving with the ability to make decisions accurately and quickly
    • Experience of the community transport sector may be an advantage but is not essential as full training and support can be provided
    • Full driving licence
