This one-day conference will bring together operators, commissioners, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore the challenges and opportunities facing community transport in England today.
This year’s agenda is packed with thought-provoking panels, practical workshops, and networking opportunities designed to support learning, collaboration, and innovation in the sector.
This week, I had the privilege of representing the Community Transport Association members at the Transport Committee’s ongoing inquiry, Buses Connecting Communities. The inquiry is investigating how areas have responded to bus service cuts, particularly through Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) and community transport solutions. It was a valuable opportunity to highlight the vital role of community transport (CT) and ensure that the voices of our members were heard at the heart of government.
Up for Yorkshire is seeking volunteer drivers to support its Community Transport Car Scheme, which helps vulnerable individuals and those without access to public transport.
Volunteers use their own vehicles to provide a vital door-to-door service, ensuring that those in need can travel safely and reliably.
Drivers receive reimbursement for all mileage, along with full training and ongoing support.
This project aims to explore the potential impact of devolved, locally controlled budgets on community transport (CT), particularly in the context of English devolution, franchising, and Enhanced Partnerships (EPs).
Community bus routes play a vital role in connecting people to essential services, especially in rural areas where public bus provision has declined. This research project aims to:
