Today we’re opening a competition to all CTA members: could you be a guest speaker at the Community Transport Association’s 2017 Westminster Conference?

Our conference programme is different this year for several reasons.

We’re in a new venue, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Westminster, but most importantly we would like for you to be one of three winners who will join us at the conference as guest speakers.

Being a guest speaker at the Westminster Conference (08 November 2017) would involve you speaking to our audience for ten minutes, sharing your knowledge, ideas and innovations on improving the accessibility and inclusivity of transport.

Fundamental to everything we do is one of our three strategic priorities: connecting people and ideas. What better way to show this in action that than by giving you the chance to share something you’ve done with the audience at our Westminster conference.

To enter the competition, please send a maximum of 700 words to hello@ctauk.org sharing your thoughts on the following:

    • What innovation have you been part of in your organisation that has led to a significant change in the way that you operate?
    • What major differences has this had to your services, your staff or the profile of your organisation?
    • What are the key lessons for others who may wish to implement similar innovations in their organisation?

Our three winners will be those whose entries make our conference planning team shout “wow” the most! Each winner will be offered a free place at the Westminster conference and overnight accommodation in London.

Even if you’re not chosen as one of our speakers, we’ll ensure that your entry and your organisation are profiled on the CTA Blog or through future articles in Together, the Journal of the Community Transport Association.

Closing date for entries is midday 03 July 2017.

Other sessions during the day will include:

    Partnerships for passengers

An opportunity to hear from national charities and other agencies working with groups of service users who want to build alliances with CTA members to make transport more accessible and inclusive for their clients.

    Mainstreaming Demand Responsive Transport?

CTA and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers are leading a research piece to examine how technology will drive major breakthroughs in demand-responsive transport – a core business for community transport. This session will launch the project report and consider how community-led solutions will feature in growing this part of the passenger transport market.

    Integrated health transport

A collaborative approach to commissioning and provision presents an opportunity to do more, and do better, for people needing help in and out of hospital and other health settings. How can we work together to make it happen?

A full programme of speakers and timings will be produced in the coming months. I hope to see you there and I cannot wait to hear your stories – good luck!

The Westminster Conference is taking place on 08 November 2017. You can book your place here.
