In 2014, the Department for Transport launched a £25 million Community Transport Minibus Fund. The fund was set up to support the community transport sector in providing accessible and inclusive transport to communities which may not be serviced by a commercial bus service.
Over the last few weeks we’ve been receiving photos of minibuses from communities across England. These proud owners of a new minibus, most of them CTA members, wanted to show us their new vehicles and tell us how they’ll ensure that those in their communities can have access to accessible and inclusive transport.
The impact of this fund has meant that over 164 new minibuses have been funded directly by the Department for Transport. We wanted to share with you some pictures of the new minibuses to demonstrate the real and tangible impact that this fund is having in communities across England.
If you’ve received a minibus that was funded through the Department for Transport, we’d love to share your photos and highlight the positive impact that the Community Transport Minibus Fund has had. Email your photos to tom@ctauk.org or tweet @CTAUK1 using the hashtag #CTMinibusFund.
Keep an eye out on our Twitter account (@CTAUK1) for pictures of the fund in action.
