CTA Celebrates Trustees' Week 2024

Trustees' Week takes place on 4th - 9th November 2024 and is a brilliant opportunity to thank, celebrate and highlight the role of charity trustees. Tasked with offering guidance, support and governance, trustees play a vital role helping Community Transport to thrive.

From Monday 4th – Friday 8th November 2024, the CTA social media platforms will highlight Community Transport trustees across the UK and say thank you for the dedication, commitment and expertise they offer to help use thrive.

CTA Chief Executive, Dr. Victoria Armstrong said: “Trustees’ Week 2024 is the perfect time to highlight the vital role of trustees, especially within the charity sector. Their guidance, governance, advice and support play a critical role in daily operations and in planning for the future.

“The CTA Trustees are a diverse group, each offering a unique set of skills, insight, knowledge and experience. They are dedicated to being at the forefront of the community transport sector and challenge us to achieve positive change in collaboration with our members.

“We encourage everyone to highlight their own organisation Trustees this week and shine a positive light on this impactful role that helps charities to thrive.”

Chair of CTA Trustee Board, Alan Jones shares his experiences of being a trustee and the many reasons to consider becoming a trustee. He said: “Having spent many years in transport and related industries I wanted to use my skills and expertise in a charity. I have now been a Chair /Trustee of several charities, and it allows me to set the vision and strategy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the organisation.

“To be a successful trustee you must have a passion for the cause and the desire to help all those involved including the many volunteers. I enjoy making a difference and working with a dedicated chief executive and dedicated team who always go the extra mile.

“I would encourage anyone to become a trustee of a charity because you get enormous satisfaction in helping others as well as boosting your professional reputation and highlights your commitment to social causes.”
