Meet our new Member Trustees

We’re delighted to introduce our two newest Trustees, Sally Lloyd Davies and Barry Armstrong.

Sally and Barry join the CTA Board as Member Trustees, bringing direct experience from CTA member organisations into Board discussions. Sally is Chief Officer of South Denbighshire Community Partnership, while Barry is Chief Executive Officer at WATBus.

Their insight will help ensure CTA’s work remains closely aligned with the needs, priorities and values of our members and the communities they support.

Meeting once a month, our Trustees are accountable for everything we do, setting the Charity’s vision, values, strategy and policies for our key activities and monitoring our progress.

Our Trustees play a vital role in ensuring the Charity remains financially sustainable, enabling us to represent our members and the wider community transport sector in the most effective and proactive way. Together, they bring a wealth of insight and experience spanning community transport, the wider transport sector, health and wellbeing, policy, finance, and more.

Sally Lloyd Davies

Sally has worked in the passenger transport industry for over 20 years and brings a wealth of practical experience to her role. Over the last 10 years, she has been working in the third sector, focusing on community engagement and development in the Dee Valley of Denbighshire, rural North Wales, with a strong emphasis on tackling rural isolation and poverty in all its forms.

Through her work, Sally has seen firsthand how important community transport is, especially as public transport services continue to decline and become less accessible for many communities. She is passionate about helping people stay connected to services, opportunities, and each other.

Sally is keen to support and champion community transport as a vital lifeline for rural communities, helping to improve access, independence, and quality of life.

Barry Armstrong

Barry has been with WATBus for over a decade and is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s full range of operations which include WATBus, WATBike, contracted services, and specific projects.

Over the past year, he has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer, where he works closely with the Board of Trustees and acts as a representative for community transport at local, regional, and national levels.

His passion for community transport is clear in his hands-on approach by regularly engaging with and supporting the local community, while actively championing the vital role community transport plays in improving people’s lives.

We’re excited to welcome Sally and Barry and look forward to the valuable contributions they will make as we continue our work supporting members and championing community transport.
