Celebrating Trustees Week 2025!

Trustees’ Week takes place on 3rd-7th November 2025 and allows us to shine a spotlight on the nearly one million trustees across the UK who give their time and expertise to support charities. It’s a great opportunity to recognise and thank those who play such an important role in strengthening communities and the organisations they lead.

At CTA, we’ll be marking the week by celebrating our own dedicated board of trustees - and encouraging our members to do the same by shining a light on the people who help their organisations thrive.

CTA Chief Executive , Dr. Victoria Armstrong said: “This Trustees Week is a chance for us to shine a spotlight  on our trustees. Their commitment, dedication and wholehearted belief in the community transport sector is what makes a huge difference. By sharing their insights and ideas, we can collaborate to drive positive change across our sector.”

“We’d encourage all organisations with trustees to use this Trustees’ Week as an opportunity to highlight their contributions and share the impact they have in helping charities thrive”.

Chair of CTA Trustee Board , Alan Jones shares his experiences of being a trustee and the many reasons to consider becoming a trustee. He said: “Having spent many years in transport and related industries I wanted to use my skills and expertise in a charity. I have now been a Chair /Trustee of several charities, and it allows me to set the vision and strategy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the organisation.

“To be a successful trustee you must have a passion for the cause and the desire to help all those involved including the many volunteers. I enjoy making a difference and working with a dedicated chief executive and dedicated team who always go the extra mile.
“I would encourage anyone to become a trustee of a charity because you get enormous satisfaction in helping others as well as boosting your professional reputation and highlights your commitment to social causes.”

Our CTA Board of Trustees page lists the people guiding CTA’s work. We’d like to thank them for their continued dedication to the community transport sector.

We’d love to hear about your charity trustees! Get in touch via comms@ctauk.org or tag us using #TrusteesWeek # CTTrustee on X/Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn with your trustee stories, highlights — we’ll be resharing posts throughout the week to celebrate your work.
