RoSPA awards course assurance to MiDAS
The Community Transport Association is delighted to announce that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has recently awarded course assurance to the CTA’s Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS). RoSPA’s course assurance programme independently reviews training to confirm it meets recognised standards for course design, trainer competence, and delivery. MiDAS Standard and MiDAS Accessible have now been assessed through this process and awarded RoSPA Course Assured status.
For organisations using MiDAS, this provides additional reassurance that the training meets recognised safety and quality benchmarks.
MiDAS is widely used by community transport organisations, charities, schools and other groups that operate minibuses, helping ensure drivers have the knowledge and skills needed to transport passengers safely. The scheme is delivered by a network of Driver Assessors across the country, who provide training and assessments to drivers working in a wide range of community settings.
Noeleen Lynch, Head of Training at the Community Transport Association, said:
“MiDAS has long been recognised as a gold standard for minibus driver training. Independent recognition through RoSPA’s Course Assurance programme reinforces the high standards maintained by the organisations and Driver Assessors delivering the scheme to support communities across the UK.”
