CTA welcomes record Plugged-In Communities funding for Scotland’s Community Transport sector
We’re delighted to welcome a new round of the Plugged-In Communities Grant Fund, with a record £4 million investment from Transport Scotland.
The funding will support Community Transport organisations across Scotland to invest in electric vehicles, helping to create greener, more sustainable fleets while continuing to provide vital services to their communities.
Supporting Community Transport’s transition to zero-emission fleets
Many CTA members will be able to access funding towards electric minibuses, MPVs and cars, supporting organisations to renew their fleets and reduce the environmental impact of their services.
Following CTA’s lobbying, we’re particularly pleased that MPVs and cars have been included in this round of funding. This means more Community Transport organisations can access support that reflects the wide range of vehicles used to deliver services across Scotland.
Moving towards zero-emission vehicles can bring benefits beyond reducing carbon emissions, including helping organisations to lower operating costs and improve passenger comfort.
A positive step for the sector
We’re pleased to see this record level of investment recognise the important role Community Transport can play in Scotland’s transition to more sustainable transport.
The £4 million fund represents a significant opportunity for organisations to invest in their future while continuing to provide accessible and essential transport for their communities.
