This week (1-7 June) is Volunteers’ Week and we want to say thank you to all the amazing volunteers across the community transport sector! Last year, the CTA team marked the occasion by going out and volunteering ourselves with some of our members, spending a day in the shoes of a community transport volunteer. This year, for obvious reasons we can’t celebrate in quite the way we would have, but that doesn’t mean we can’t spend the week saying thank you to the amazing volunteers across the sector.
All week, we want you to tweet photos of your volunteers with #VolunteersWeek and #Thankyou alongside a message about why they’re so important. Whether they’re actively volunteering at the moment, or they’re having to stay home, we want to celebrate the enormous impact they make. If you don’t have a photo, you can download one of our graphics below and if you don’t have Twitter, you can send your messages into us via firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll post them for you.
We’ll also be holding a special advice drop-in call on Friday 05 June, 11:00 – 12:00, to look at the challenges around recruiting and retaining volunteers during coronavirus, and how other community transport providers have been coping. If you want to take part in that session, just email email@example.com for a link.
