Volunteers’ Week – “Thank You”
-
9th June 2016
-
When we asked for Volunteers’ Week stories, Swansea Council got in touch to ask us if we could send out a message of thanks to some of their volunteers. We are more than happy to do so!
“The City & County of Swansea Community Transport Officer, Christina Christie, would like to express appreciation of both Lynda Rice and Hildegarde Roberts (volunteer coordinators) on operating the voluntary car schemes in Gorseinon and Gower, Swansea, South Wales
I have worked with both ladies over the last two years and their hard work and dedication, which sometimes takes over their everyday life, never ceases to amaze me. They contribute a vast amount of voluntary hours and arrange provision of transport services for people who would otherwise be unable to access community services, health appointments and shopping trips etc. We sometimes overlook the people working behind the scenes, but without them these services would be unmanageable.
I’m also grateful to the voluntary car scheme drivers and administration volunteers of DANSA (Dulais, Afan, Neath, Swansea & Amman) valley transport as well as Pontarddulais Community Car Scheme for their time and commitment.“
The CTA would like to add our thanks to this as well- thank you to Lynda, Hildegarde and all the other volunteers mentioned for the important work that you do!
Do you have a volunteer that you want to thank? Let us know by emailing tom@ctauk.org
