From 12–16 October 2026, communities across the UK will celebrate Community Transport Week 2026, shining a light on the vital role community transport plays in helping people stay connected, independent and involved in their communities.
This year’s theme is Driving Communities Forward. The theme celebrates the people who keep community transport moving every day, from paid and volunteer drivers to the staff, trustees and volunteers working behind the scenes. It recognises the connections they create, the barriers they help remove, and the opportunities they open up for people across our communities.
Driving Communities Forward is also about the future of our sector. Across the UK, Community Transport Organisations are facing challenges around driver recruitment, licensing, funding, volunteering and rising costs. With CTA’s D1 campaign in full swing, CTWeek26 is an opportunity to celebrate the people already driving community transport forward, while showing decision-makers what support is needed to keep communities moving.
Whether your organisation runs minibuses, community cars, accessible vehicles, volunteer driver schemes or a mix of services, CTWeek26 is your chance to share your story, celebrate your impact and show why community transport matters.
How can my Community Transport Organisation (CTO) get involved?
We know Community Transport Organisations are busy, so CTWeek26 is designed to be flexible. We want you to celebrate in whichever way works best for your organisation, your team and your community.
There are lots of ways to take part. You might choose to share a driver story, invite a local politician to visit your service, post on social media, contact the local press, or simply let your team, volunteers and passengers know that CTWeek26 is a chance to celebrate them and the difference they make.
We’ve listed some ideas and resources below to help you get involved. However you choose to celebrate, we’re here to support you. You can contact your Development Officer or email our communications team on comms@ctauk.org.
